Not every therapist is a good fit for every client. Keeping this in mind I empower my clients to set their behavioral and emotional goals with me in the initial session. Every 6 months we review progress and reassess the effectiveness of therapy. I am trained in CBT, which is a well-researched and proven to be effective therapy style. I have learned that clients need either validation, accountability, or effective coping skills. My goal is for you to do the best you can with the skills you have & learn new skills in the process.
I completed my master's in counseling psychology from UCO in 2015. I have been practicing as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oklahoma for the last five years. I have experience working outpatient as well as in patient in behavioral health. I stay UpToDate with continued education in my field.
My session is broken down into reviewing your week, identifying negative emotions, thoughts & their impact, practicing coping skills to get you closer to your goal. I have found myself to be very effective working with clients and families from minority cultures as well as women & young adults in general.
