How can therapy help?

We will help identify your personal goals for counseling and then tailor counseling to you and your objectives. We will listen closely to understand your experiences, and find ways to help you succeed. Therapy is a personalized process, so it's different for every person. Together, we'll work on exploring your life, making changes in unhealthy patterns of thinking or behavior, and finding solutions that work for you.

Why can't I just talk to a friend of family member?

Friends and family are incredibly important, but they're not professionally trained to help you grow, heal and change. A trained therapist will help you find your own answers based on what's right for you.

Is my confidentiality completely protected?

Yes. We are bound by law to protect your confidentiality. The legal exceptions to this are issues related to child or elder abuse, a threat to harm another person or yourself. If you use insurance to pay for therapy, we will provide only the information required by your insurance company (a diagnosis is usually included).

Can you prescribe medicine?

No. We offer counseling and testing services only.

What kind of testing do you provide?

We have a Masters level therapist who does mental health evaluations involving these tests:

  • Mmpi

  • Mcmi

  • Bio psychosocial interviews

These tests, along with an interview, provide detailed information regarding personality traits and underlying psychological disorders as well as treatment options. We are currently set up to test ages 18 and older.

NOTE: Most insurance providers do NOT cover the cost of this testing. The cost ranges between $550 - $650.

What types of issues can therapy address?

• Depression or other mood disorders, such as bipolar disorder
• Anxiety disorder, phobias, social anxiety, panic attacks
• Grief and loss
• Anger management
• Abuse or trauma
• Medical illness such as chronic pain
• Marital and relationship problems
